USITC institutes Section 337 investigation of certain mobile electronic devices and components

The USITC voted to institute a Section 337 investigation, Inv. No. 337-TA-1525, of certain mobile electronic devices and components thereof, based on a complaint filed September 3, 2026 by trinamiX Sensing LLC of Austin, Texas and trinamiX GmbH of Ludwigshafen am Rhein, Germany and supplemented September 17, 2026. The complaint alleges infringement of certain asserted patent claims through importation, sale for importation and sale after importation, and seeks a limited exclusion order and cease and desist orders. The USITC identified Apple Inc. of Cupertino, California as the respondent and stated it has not yet made any decision on the merits.
