Nextpower executive says domestic steel module frames support Section 48E domestic content bonus

In a pv magazine USA Week 2026 presentation, Nextpower vice president Jenya Meydbray said steel frames roll-formed in U.S. facilities are the practical route to scaling domestic module frame manufacturing, and that Nextpower is ramping steel frame capacity for 6.5 GW of modules. Meydbray said a domestic steel frame adds 6% to the manufactured product component calculation for the 10% bonus under the Section 48E solar investment tax credit, on top of the 28.7% its domestic single-axis tracking products already count toward.
