    CBP to set AESTIR Commodity Response Code 802 to Fatal on September 25, 2026

    CBP states in CSMS # 69647661 that, at BIS's request, it will set AESTIR Commodity Response Code 802 to Fatal on September 25, 2026; the code is currently set to Verify. Once set to Fatal, the EEI will be rejected and must be corrected for the submission to be accepted. Code 802 applies where the License Code or License Exemption Code indicates a BIS license claim and the license value reported on the CL1 record exceeds 110% of the BIS license value.
